Healing should not surprise us. At the same time, healing is not automatic because we pray. God does not reduce Himself to a celestial vending machine in which we deposit our dollar bill prayers and mechanically receive a tangible reward.

Our faith does not result in healing.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
