6 Men, Women & children are forced to work in “mines” which are more like giant mud holes.

7 Some may work for months just to find one small rock

8 1.7 Million people have died over the conflicts diamonds create, just so you can have a shiny piece of jewelry.

9 Inside the fields of these rebel group war zones, children are often mutilated or turned into child rebel soldiers while the woman are often raped and killed.

10 Approximately $8.5 billion worth of diamonds a year come from African countries

11 Leonardo DiCaprio stars in Blood Diamonds, a movie depicting the terrible conditions on diamond mining.
