They decided to build the Choir / Nave first. 2.How will you get the people of Exeter to support the changes? By building a Lady Chapel / Lavatory and putting relics / remains on show, because this would attract pilgrims / preachers to Exeter. 3.How will you raise the money? The Bishop and Chapter decided to give / not give money. They expected donations from rich merchants and thought of the idea of selling pardons / absolutions. I can also see figures watching them from the roof. I think these people are supposed to be priests / angels. The work is dangerous because the people were high up / low down, they had to climb steps / ladders carrying heavy / light weights.

Bishop Stapleton and other priests gave £1900 / £19,000,000 to extend the cathedral. When he died Bishop Stapleton left a massive sum of money to the cathedral. 4.Who should be the mason. Thomas of Oxford /Whitney, the best mason in England, was employed to turn Exeter into a cruciform (cross-shaped) cathedral.

The masons were / were not allowed to carve them in the Nave / Chancel because it was the people’s part of the church.
