3  1 st PERIOD BEGINS AT 7:35  THIS MEANS STUDENTS SHOULD BE IN CLASS  STUDENTS WILL GO STRAIGHT TO 1 st PERIOD  SCHOOL DISMISSES AT 2:45

4  Any child entering 7th Grade needs to have had two (2) MMR’s: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, & Tdap (Td booster).  It is also recommended that your 7th grader obtain their Hepatitis B vaccinations for protection against this blood-borne pathogen.  Contact Huron County Health Department if you have any questions.

9 How are the days used?” Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays… used for extra help, making up or retaking tests, redoing unsatisfactory work, organizing one’s work, studying, and/or using the computer lab or library. Tuesdays…reading, Study Island, Khan Academy Fridays…Clubs &Organizations

10  In 7 th and 8 th Grade all students will take a Performance Based Assessment (March 14 th – April 15 th ) in Math and E/LA  In 8 th Grade only Performance Based Assessment (March 21 st – April 8 th ) in Science  In 7 th and 8 th Grade all students will take an End of Year Assessment (April 18 th – May 20 th ) in Math and E/LA  In 8 th Grade only End of Year Assessment (May 2 nd – May 20 th ) in Science

11  Students in 7 th and 8 th Grade will also take part in MAP Testing in Math, Reading and Science 3 different times during the school year (August, December, & April)  8 th Graders take the ASPIRE Test

12  Seventh Graders who fail more than two subjects will be retained in seventh.  Students with 3 F’s may take summer school to make up a failed course. If they pass they will be promoted. Students with 4 F’s or more do not have this option.

15  Students in 7 th & 8 th Grade are eligible to take college-level courses with a passing score on a college-readiness exam.  Reminder – if a student has submitted their intent for CCP, the deadline to apply to BGSU is April 17 th.

16  Eligibility for the following courses will be based on MAP scores and teacher recommendation:  English/Language Arts  Math  Science *Junior High acceleration takes place during the 7 th Grade year which allows 8 th Graders to take Freshmen-level courses.
