Practice Read as much as you can Read out loud when you can to people around you to practice your speaking skills Pronounce all the words carefully and smoothly Practice saying the words with the right stresses and make sure to pause when needed between sentences and words

Write Your Own Sentences Practice drawing from all of your vocabulary and referencing your vocabulary sheets as you write your own sentences After writing down all the sentences, make sure to read them out loud to each other to practice pronunciation

New Pronunciations Follow the patterns of the words you have learned to try pronouncing new words correctly

Some Example of Sentences Read the sentences below out loud to each other There is a lot of books in the library. I like to eat delicious food. I drive a small car on the highway. My bedroom is clean, but my bathroom is not clean.

Describing Objects Practice drawing on all the vocabulary that you have learned and writing down the relevant vocabulary to describe objects Then read the descriptions out loud

Some More Common Questions Where is(the fast food restaurant, the memorial, the bathroom, etc.)? What did you do yesterday? Who is your favorite (actor, teacher, etc.)? What were you like when you were young? What is your favorite (subject in school, sport, food, etc.)?

Create Your Own Questions Where is the gas station? What is your favorite kind of weather? What do doctors do?

Answering Questions Answer each other’s questions and refer to your vocabulary sheets to give as good of an answer as possible After referring to your notes to answer the questions, try to repeat your answers without looking at your notes Practice answering the questions smoothly and carefully

Environment Have to create a comfortable environment for the children to be more willing to learn English Keep the lessons interactive and fun

Ideas for Keeping the Classroom Comfortable Lesson Plan Give several short sentences describing nature to the children (“The grass is green,” “The tree is tall,” “Animals are everywhere,” “And I am in the middle of it all”) Lead the children to sing the descriptions several times through Lead the children on a march while singing the song Ask the children to draw on the blackboard some of the images they think of as they sing the song

Lessons for Helping Children to Respond to Questions Lesson Plan Ask the children one question Ask the children to each write down their own response on their paper Ask the children to tape their responses on the board Have the whole class read the responses out loud to each other to show the different possible ways of responding to one question Lead the children singing the responses Ask the children to draw pictures all around the board to help better express their answers

Lessons for Encouraging Children to Speak in Front of Crowds Give a little show and tell project and ask the children to bring something from their home. Have the children prepare a little presentation by asking them to write down what they would like to describe about what they bring

Challenging Children’s Writing Give the children the task of writing down their opinion about something and providing some explanation. For example after reading a story, ask the children to respond by writing “I like it,” “I don’t like it,” or another statement. Then show the children that they can write explanations such as “The story is boring,” or “The boy was funny.”
