They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. We will remember them.

(silence)

God of mercy grant them peace God give peace

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide; When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; Earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away; Change and decay in all around I see— O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

I need Thy presence every passing hour; What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power? Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless; Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness; Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies; Heav’n’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

Sin, sins and the sinful nature Sin is everything that is not from God’s heart. (Romans 3:10-12,23) It is sin that leads to death (Romans 6:23) the sinful nature is the part of you that wants and desires sin. sins are the individual actions that come out of that nature.

Sin, sins and the sinful nature Fixing the sins does not fix the sin. God forgives the sin, not just the sins (Romans 5:15-19) We need freed from the consequences of sin, the power of sin and the presence of sin Our first response to sin should not be to fix it, but to be broken by it. (Psalm 51)
