Human Family It will never be known for certain where, when, why and how the human family system originated. – It has occurred long before the advent of written history.

Humans are born to be part of a “family unit” Human’s are born with complex brains and the ability to think, communicate, problems solve and feel emotions. These characteristics are unique to any other species on the planet.

Humans are born to be part of a “family unit” Human Babies are born with large heads to support the advanced human brain. They are born helpless completely dependent on others for the first 4 or 5 years.

Humans are born to be part of a “family unit Thus it can be argued that, humans as a species would not have survived unless some form of family grouping developed to provide the extensive care, protection and socialization required for young.

First Families Hordes are the first know family grouping and were composed of loosed grouping of males and females and their offspring. Hordes developed taboos ( ban ) against certain kinds of aggression, sexual activity to ensure relative peace and co-operation necessary for the survival.

First Families The earliest form of family hordes was a kind of group marriage, in which informal pairing occurred for various lengths of time on the bases of conveniences. A division of labour probably existed, loosely based on gender age. ( Dependent on a successful hunter – gathering)

First Families Economic activities of the members were based on mutual co-operation. Men and women depended on each other. - Food gather activities of the women and children were as essential as hunting practices of men.
