What is an E-Book? An E-Book is a book. An E-book is not a book.

What is an E-Book? An E-Book is a digital file containing the content of a book. Can be just text Can include illustrations Can be “read” on a number of different electronic devices – computers, phones, E- Readers, etc.

Books in libraries – you know them, you love them: Physical objects Purchased outright (one-time expense) Some are free Live on library shelves Loaned until worn or weeded Can be sold

E-Books in libraries are (mostly) different: Digital objects Mostly leased (ongoing expense) Some are free Live on a server, somewhere else Loaned until lease expires Can’t be sold
