S ADNESS IN THE F EAST 5 th Sunday of the Lent 1728/2012

(S T. J OHN S ABA ) Blessed is he, who forgot the talk of the world by Your talk to him? As by You, his needs are consummated!

T HESE A RE MY F EASTS And the L ORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “ Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the L ORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts. Lev. 23:1,2

H OLD A FEAST TO THE L ORD Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the LORD Go d of Israel: ‘ Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’” Exd. 5:1

T O SERVE ME So Moses and Aaron came in to Pharaoh and said to him, “Thus says the LORD Go d of the Hebrews: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me. Exd. 10:3

T HE P ASSOVER After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Jn 5:1

S ADNESS IN THE F EAST Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty- eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him,“Do you want to be made well?” Jn 5:5,6

N EW DIMENSION IN THIS FEAST Jesus said to him, “ Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. Jn 5:8,9

S T. N ILUS OF S INAI Always remain in a state of repentance for we know not the day or the hour at which the Lord will come.

S IN N O M ORE Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” Jn 5:14

(S T. C YRIL THE G REAT ) Let us praise God and sing the songs of joy to God, our Saviour.
