2 Directions: This is the sequence, or order, we will learn
our new vocabulary words. 1. I will say the vocabulary word. 2. Then you will repeat the word. 3. We will discuss the definition. 4. We will say the word one more time together.

Amiably-friendly Bog-swamp Torrent- swift-flowing stream Let- rented Peril- danger Condoling- expressing sympathy Rubicund- with a ruddy or red complexion Doughty- brave Grimace- facial expression of pain or disgust

4 Fate- power is thought o determine the course of events
Talisman- an object thought to have magical powers Antimacassar- a cloth placed over an arm or back of a chair. Wardrobe- a piece of furniture that serves as a closet. Simian- monkey or ape-like Prosaic- ordinary Sideboard- a piece of furniture used to store linens and dishes Virtues- powers

5 Credulity- a disposition to believe too readily
Frivolous- inappropriately silly Avaricious- greedy Resignation- acceptance of something that is inescapable Fusillade- discharge from many guns; rapid outburst

6 Directions: As we go through the pictures, please make up a sentence that uses each vocabulary word appropriately.
