Ball Pean Hammer Description:
Wooden handle & double sided metal head. Flat end is used for: Forging – flattening and stretching the metal. Round end is used for: Hammer texturing – makes little shiny dots that are small when hit lightly & larger when hit harder. Located: metal drawer area

Anvil Description: Harden steel work surface
Uses: Used for forging metal. Allows the metal to stretch more effectively because it “hits” the metal on both sides at once. Located: in the tall closet on the first shelf.

Rawhide Mallet Description:
Wooden handle & rawhide head. Uses: This tool is used to work harden metal. Located: metal drawer area

Flat Nose Jeweler’s Pliers Description:
Two flat jaws and metal handles Uses: makes flat or squared off shapes in wire. Located: your assigned kit.

Round Nose Jeweler’s Pliers Description:
Two round jaws and metal handles Uses: Makes S curves or rounded shapes in wire Located: your assigned kit.

Chain Nose Jeweler’s Pliers Description:
Two flat jaws that are round on the outside and metal handles Uses: Makes C shaped curves in wire Located: your assigned kit.

One square and one round jaw and metal handles Uses: Makes complex shapes in wire Located: in the pliers drawer

Wire Jig Description: A plastic or metal board with pegs.
Uses: makes many copies of complex shapes out of wire. Located: See Teacher to sign out.

Ring Mandrel Description:
Tapered plastic rod Uses: Makes perfect circles or ring bands (used with a rawhide mallet) and stretches rings to make them larger (use with a ball peen hammer) Located: in the marked metal drawer cabinet

Bracelet Mandrel Description:
large oval rod on a mounting frame Uses: Used to make bracelet shapes (rawhide mallet) Located: second shelf of the tall cabinet

Dappeling Block/Punch Description:
Harden steel metal block and hardened steel punches Uses: makes domed metal shapes (use a regular hammer) Located: in the tall closet on the first shelf

Wire Cutters Description:
Cutting jaws and metal handles Uses: Cuts wire Located: in your assigned kit.

Jeweler’s Saw Description:
C shaped frame and wooden handle Uses: Cuts shapes out of metal Located: Hanging in the tall closet – ask teacher for replacement blades

V-Board Description: Wooden board with a V cut out of it and a silver table clamp. Uses: Extends the work surface to allow precision metal cutting without ruining the table edge. Located: in the marked metal drawers cabinet

Ring Clamp Description:
wooded “scissors” and “doorstop” Uses: Holds small pieces of metal so they are easier to work on Located: in the tall closet on the second shelf

Use only when a hand file doesn’t fit!
