1 I’ve Got a Home in Gloryland
Psalm 87:3

2 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God! Selah

3 I. IT IS GLORIOUS IN IT’S BEAUTY

4 A. In It’s Stately Appearance

5 Revelation 21:10-17 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

6 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.

7 12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

8 13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.

9 14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

10 15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.

11 16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.

12 17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.

13 Revelation 22:1-6 1And he showed me a pure[a] river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

14 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

15 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.

16 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

17 6 Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true
6 Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.

18 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

19 John 14:1-3 1“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

20 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

21 B. In It’s Sinless Atomsphere

22 Revelation 21:27 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.

23 II. IT IS GLORIOUS IN IT’S OCCUPANTS

24 A. The Sovereign God Will Be There

25 Revelation 21:3-4 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

26 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

27 B. The Son Of God Will Be There

28 John 14:1-3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

29 2 Corinthians 5:8  We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

30 Revelation 22:3-4 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.

31 Revelation 5:6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain,

32 having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

33 C. The Spirit Of God Will Be There

34 D. The Saved Of God Will Be There

35 John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

36 Revelation 4:4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.

37 Hebrews 12:22-23 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,

38 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,

39 Revelation 19:1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!

40 Revelation 19:7-8 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

41 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

42  Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

43  Revelation 21:9-11 9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”

44 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

45 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.

46 III. IT IS GLORIOUS IN IT’S ENDURANCE

47 A. Heaven Will Last Forever

48 1 Peter 1:3-5 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

49 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

50 B. Heaven Is God’s Dwelling and Will Endure as Long as God Does

51 Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

52 IV. IT IS GLORIOUS IN IT’S MESSAGE

53 A. A King Departs Heaven -

54 Matthew 1:18-23 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

55 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

56 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

57 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

58 22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

59 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

60 John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

61 John 1:14  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

62 B. A King Dies -

63 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

64 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

65 John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

66 C. A King Defeats Death

67 Matthew 18:1-6 1Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

68 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

69 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

70 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

71  D. A King Describes the Way Home

72  John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

73  John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

74  John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

75  John 6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

76  Acts 16:31  So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

77  Romans 10:9  that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

78  Romans 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”[
