The Throne in Heaven “… I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. Revelation 4:1-3

Our God is Sovereign! The Throne in Heaven is not empty! Our God is seated on the Throne! ‘History’ is ‘His Story’!

Herod the Great – killed the baby boys in Bethlehem (Matt 2) Had seven sons: Antipater – executed by his father Alexander – executed by his father Aristobulus – executed by his father Herod Philip I – wife Herodias, daughter Salome Herod Archelaus – avoided by Mary and Joseph (Matt 2) Herod Antipas – stole Herodias from Philip, had John the Baptist beheaded (Matt 14). Trial of Jesus (Luke 23) Herod Philip II – passing mention in Luke 3v1

Herod the Great – killed the babies in Bethlehem (Matt 2) Aristobulus – executed by his father Herod Agrippa I – killed James, tried to kill Peter, eaten by worms and died (Acts 12) Herod Agrippa II – put Paul on trial (Acts 25 & 26). Last ruling Herod, died c.100AD
