6 Important landmarks to note are: Iliac Crest Anterior-superior iliac spine (ASIS) Posterior-superior iliac spine (PSIS) Ischial tubersosity (also called the I.T.s, the ischial “tubes”, or your “sit bones” Acetabulum Lateral view

7 When we talk about the hip we are referring to the articulation between the acetabulum of the pelvis and the head of the femur. ball and socket joint The hip joint is a ball and socket joint.
