Pilgrim Girl’s Clothing Coif- close fitting linen cap Shift- undergarment like a shirt Waistcoat- fitted jacket like a vest Apron- cloth that covered the front of the skirt Petticoat- undergarment worn under the skirt Shoes, stockings, coats, and hats was also worn.

Roles and Responsibilities Run Errands Fetch wood and water Herded chickens Gardening Cooking and preserving food Sewing clothing and bedding Milk cows Make soap Clean house Help their mothers

Schooling Parents taught their children reading and writing. The children learned at night or during the winter. Parents used hornbooks and bibles to teach the children how to read.

Games Leapfrog Marbles Ball and Cup Naughts and Crosses (tic tac toe) Poppets (Cloth dolls)

Housing Houses were constructed out of wood on stone foundations. The size of the house was about the same size of a small apartment.

Food Fish (Bass, bluefish, cod) Seafood (Clams, lobsters, mussels) Birds (Wild turkey, duck, goose) Grain (Indian corn) Fruits (strawberries, grapes, plums) Vegetables (peas, squashes, beans) Nuts (Walnuts, chestnuts, acorns)
