URQUHART CASTLE It’s near Loch Ness. It was attacked many times so it was rebuilt. Its story is very interesting. Saint Columba visited the castle around 580 a.C. the Englis king Edward the First took the castle in 1296 and the MacDonalds, lords of the Isles, were there during the Middle Ages.

EILEAN DONAN CASTLE Although the isle is surrounded by the sea, there is a sweet water lake there. It is known that the first people who lived in that area were from the Iron Age

THE BUILIDING It’s known that the castle was first built in the 18th century During two centuries it was in ruins The Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap y Farquhar MacRae, decided to rebuild it at the beginning of the 20th century.

It has been celebrated since 1950, when the British Army decided to contribute to the famous Edimburgh Festival of August. Each year the music bands of the Armies from different countries make a parade outside the Edimburh Castle

ROYAL MILE The Royal Mile ( Milla Real ) is formed by the four old streets which joined the Edimburgh Castle and the Holyroodhouse Palace during the Middle Age

OLYMPIC CITY When I was there it was the month of the Olympic Games.

EDIMBURGH FESTIVAL It’s celebrated every year in August, from the 6th to the 28th. Many people play theatre in the street. There are also many plays in pubs…

FOOD The pudding containing sheep's pluck (heart, liver and lungs) minced with onion is called Haggies. It’s served with neeps and tatties (puré de colinabo y patatas)

Typical things Scottish men wear skirt called kilts They can play the bagpipes, a very typical instrument.
