GeoSCIA lite Mission Profile  The First Geostationary Atmospheric Chemistry Mission Primary Products: hourly synoptics maps of O 3, NO 2, SO 2, HCHO, H 2 O, clouds and aerosol over Europe pre-operational demonstration of user services (EUMETSAT, GMES Atmosphere) strong scientific value (transport and transformation in the troposphere) Value Added Products (Air Quality Index, UV-Index, Health warnings, etc.) by combining GeoSCIA lite data with data from other sources via data fussion and assimilation  Measurements from GEO of European Area (10°W-20°E, <5°NS) with UV + VIS + NIR290 - 550 nm, 755 – 775 nm high spectral0,2 - 0,5 nm high spatial  10 x 10 km temporal resolution  60 minutes  Mission Duration:  3 years +2yrs extension (launch in 2009)

4. SCIAMACHY: trop. NO 2, Monthly Mean GeoSCIA lite shall provide this type of data approx. every hour during daytime with nearly an order of magnitude better spatial resolution
