11 WSQA PEPD Mentor: Session 1 Process Primary Differences w/ National  Do not have the administrative staff  Utilize software  All applicants go through consensus. Some full applicants go to site visit. 11

13 WSQA PEPD Mentor: Session 1 13 Conflict of interest issues  WSQA seeks to avoid conflict of interest to protect process integrity  Conflicts are frequent!  First step in assignment process: determine any conflicts

PEPD Time Commitments  Monthly meeting 1 ½ hour  Lite team mentoring Quarterly E-mails ½ hour Review examiner inputs stage 1- 1.5 hour Follow up with team members-.5-1hour Review consensus comments- 2 hours Consensus meeting 4-6 hours TOTAL 10 hours for lite process  Team involvement 1-2 hours /month (optional) TOTAL TIME COMMITMENT: 4- 6 hours/month 14

18 WSQA PEPD Mentor: Session 1 18 Mentor activities: individual review  (Full) Review category lead/back-up assignments with Team Lead, ensure they’re communicated to the team on time  Team establishes a single Key Factors list  Review & provide early feedback to individual examiners (upon completion of Cat. 1) Worksheets are complete Comments are clear Key Factor selections are appropriate Comments appropriately references the application

24 WSQA PEPD Mentor: Session 1 Lite Differences  Use only first 4 scoring bands  Scoring by category (not item)  Uses a subset of full criteria questions  Do not use key themes  Goes through Consensus, does not go to site visit  2-3 examiners per team (often entry level examiners)  No Team Lead since there are only 3 examiners. 24
