1. The Lost Younger Son (Prodigal Son) The Lost Sons and the Prodigal Father Luke 15 v 1-2 & 11-32

1. The Lost Younger Son 1.He rejected the Father’s love 2.He lived life his own way ignoring the Father’s best plans for him 3.He turned back to the Father in faith repented of his sins and the Father welcomed him home.

2. The Lost Elder Brother 1.He also rejected the Father’s love. 2.But he kept all of the rules. 3.He turned away from the Father because of his pride even though the Father welcomed him in.

3. The Prodigal Father 1.He went out to both the sons 2.He offered them the same love and acceptance. 3.He is calling all people to repent and be justified by Jesus righteousness not their own self-righteousness.

Our response: 1.Repent of the sin in your life by choosing to turn away from it 2.Repent of your self-righteousness - when you have done the right things for the wrongs reasons. 3.Put your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and he will empower you to do the right things for the right reasons in relationship with Him.
