3 Fly fishing Fly fishing is about using a long flexible rod to flick a tiny fly(lure made from feathers) behind heavy fly line. There is salt water and fresh water fly fishing but most people use it to catch salmonoids like trout and salmon.

4 Lure fishing Lure fishing is about using some thing that looks and sometimes smells or sounds like something a fish mite eat There are lots of types of lures e.g. minnows, surface poppers, stick baits, deep divers and lots of others

5 Bait fishing Bait fishing is using real things that fish eat like worms, bait fish, crabs, prawns and lots of others You can use a float, sinker or leave it unweighted when bait fishing

6 Spear fishing Spear fishing is using a spear gun or handheld spear to stab fish and pull it out of the water Spear fishing is not very popular and is banned in most places

7 Fishing gear Some examples of fishing gear include fishing rod, reel, hooks, line, sinkers, floats and lures For spear fishing you need to have a spear, flippers, wetsuit and a mesh bag
