Simile Simile-using like or as to compare 2 things. Example : I was snug as a bug in my blanket.

Metaphor Metaphor : Comparing 2 things without using like or as; something is something else. Example :He is the sun of her sky.

Hyperbole Hyperbole- Using exaggerations. Example: I ran liked greased lightning.

Onomatopoeia Onomatopoeia –Sound word Example : The thunder boomed then the lightning cracked.

Alliteration Alliterations-Repetition of beginning sound. Example: The cat crawled under the car.

Personification- Giving human qualities to something not human. Example: The camera loves me! Personification

Idiom Idiom-A well known expression. Example : I was saved by the bell.
