2. When the morning hour comes upon us

3. O Christ our God, the True Light, let the thoughts of light arise within us.

4. and let not the darkness of passions cover us

5. that we may praise You rationally with David, crying unto You and saying

6. “My eyes are awake before the dawn time that I might meditate on all Your words.”

7. Hear our voices according to Your great mercy; save us, O Lord our God, according to Your compassions.

8. Ke nyn ke a-ee ke ees toos é-onas ton é- onon. Amen. Both now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
