3. What are Hemispheres?
Hemisphere – any one of four overlapping halves of Earth
Four Hemispheres
Northern Hemisphere
Southern Hemisphere
Eastern Hemisphere
Western Hemisphere

4. Northern and Southern Hemisphere
The Northern and Southern Hemisphere are created by an imaginary east-west line known as the equator.

5. Eastern and Western Hemisphere
The Eastern and Western Hemisphere are created by an imaginary north-south line known as the prime meridian.

6. Latitude
Latitude – imaginary parallel lines that run around Earth in an east-west direction; one of these lines is known as the Equator.
Parallel – another name for a line of latitude

7. Longitude
Longitude – imaginary lines that run in a north-south direction from one pole to another; one of these lines is known as the Prime Meridian
Meridian – another name for a line of longitude

8. Global Grid
Global Grid – a pattern of crossed lines formed by lines of latitude and lines of longitude.
