2.  What do you think you know about the Statue of Liberty?

3.  The Statue of Liberty is a man-made landmark located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor.

4.  This landmark was given as a gift in 1884 from France.

5.  People come to see this landmark because it symbolizes freedom to people all over the world.

6.  The Statue of Liberty is made from pounded copper.  The statue is over 151 feet tall.  The arm holding the torch was sent to Philadelphia for America’s 100 th birthday celebration in 1876.

8.  torch A torch is a stick with material on one end that can be burned to provide light.
