Exodus 16:8-9 And Moses said, “When the L ORD gives you in the evening meat to eat and in the morning bread to the full, because the L ORD has heard your grumbling that you grumble against him—what are we? Your grumbling is not against us but against the L ORD.” 9 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Say to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, ‘Come near before the L ORD, for he has heard your grumbling.’ ”

John 5:18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

Matthew 13:53-58 And when Jesus had finished these parables, he went away from there, 54 and coming to his hometown he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and

Pink Men despise and reject the Savior because they feel not their deep need of Him. Feeding upon the husks which are fit food only for swine, they have no appetite for the true Bread. And when the claims of Christ are really pressed upon them they still "murmur"!

John 3:3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Simeon …as a river flowing to the ocean cannot turn back again to its source without the attractive influence of the heavenly bodies, so neither can we reverse all our natural habits and propensities, without the drawings of our heavenly Father.
12
Morris There is not one example in the New Testament of the use of this verb where the resistance is successful. Always the dragging power is triumphant, as here.

John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Pascal To make a man a saint, grace is absolutely necessary; and whoever doubts this does not know what a saint is, or what a man is.

I’ve found a Friend, O such a Friend! He loved me ere [before] I knew Him; He drew me with the cords of love, And thus He bound me to Him; And round my heart still closely twine Those ties which nought can sever; For I am His, and He is mine, For ever and for ever
16
Romans 3:11 …no one understands; no one seeks for God.

Carson …is not by the savage constraint of a rapist, but by the wonderful wooing of a lover. Otherwise put, it is by an insight, a teaching, an illumination implanted within the individual, in fulfillment of the Old Testament promise.
18
Horner The wooing of a soul, by means of divine invasion, instruction, and attraction, will inevitably result in the winning of that same soul.
19
John 1:18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.

Horner It is not so much as if they have no food; they have eaten from the table of Moses for generations; they still eat that which gives them religious heartburn.

2 Corinthians 3:3 And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Leviticus 7:26-27 Moreover, you shall eat no blood whatever, whether of fowl or of animal, in any of your dwelling places. 27 Whoever eats any blood, that person shall be cut off from his people.

1 Corinthians 15:47-48 The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
