7 POLICY Develop Policy on: Spousal/Partner Accommodation Tenure Clock Adjustment Quality Day Care for Faculty Maternity Leave Other ?? Review Department Diversity Plans Transform the UM into a family friendly workplace CAMPUS WIDE POLICY COMMITTEE Goal: To develop policy at the campus wide and departmental levels

8 POLICY DEPARTMENT LEVEL EVALUATION COMMITTEES Two departments per year will undergo detailed and careful evaluation of the previous 10 years for all tenure-track faculty to identify the issues specific to their discipline/department. From this evaluation departmentally relevant diversity plans will be developed, reviewed by the Campus Wide Policy Committee and provided to the Provost.

9 TENURE LINE HIRES PACE will provide 50% of salary support for three new tenure track lines to be used for women. UM will match this amount and continue these lines beyond the period of the award. Our challenge has been to find the intersection between the PACE goals and the university faculty placement goals so that hires can be accomplished that meet them both. Delineating the priorities of the Provost and setting clear PACE criteria has facilitated this process. Goal: To increase the number of women scientists at UM

10 Project PACE will assist science departments, colleges and UM as a whole to reach gender diversity goals. Project PACE 337 & 340 North Corbin Phone: 243-5894 PACE@mso.umt.edu
