3 Why is pace important? Appropriate pace: – Allows all pupils to make progress – Improves pupils attainment – Improves pupils motivation and engagement – Reduce classroom management issues

4 How can you maintain pace in lessons? Effective start to the lesson Ensure work is sufficiently differentiated – SEN Pupils – MAT Pupils Have timings clearly stated and stick to them Structured planning

5 Big challenge for pace Pupils who have a SEN or are identified as MAT Discuss and make notes on your sugar paper about how you can prevent a loss of pace when dealing with SEN/MAT pupils You have 8 minutes
