1 St Anne’s: Ofsted Summary

2 Why is St Anne’s in Special Measures?  Achievement is poor. Progress is inconsistent  Some weak teaching observed and over a sustained period of time will be the cause of insufficient progress in writing  The more able do not make sufficient progress because tracking has been poor over time  Progress for those who are eligible for the pupil premium is poor  In some classes at times differentiation is poor and pace of learning is slow  Issues with the number of Headteachers and monitoring by Governors

3 What does St Anne’s need to do to improve further?  Improve the quality of teaching so that it is consistently good or better by: Accurately assessing pupils attainment Raising expectations of what all pupils can achieve and setting tasks appropriate for their needs Ensuring the pace of learning in all lessons is fast enough to ensure good progress  Raise achievement in writing by: Providing more opportunities for pupils to write at length across the curriculum Ensuring the writing policy is consistently applied in all classes  Improve leadership and management by ensuring that: Weaknesses in teaching are eliminated rapidly with checks implemented Performance management is linked to achievement and includes CPD
