Smallmouth are not a picky fish, they will take just about anything when hungry, however some lures have proven better than others, such as: Tubes- A hollow body with tentacles. Large Worms- A very long plastic worm hooked weedless. Crankbaits- A hard lure that wobbles In the water.

The classic fisherman's knot should be your choice. When choosing a rod you don’t want something to heavy, and a medium action real with 12 pound test is the best choice.
5
A rocky and weedy area tends to be the best place to fish smallmouth in New Brunswick, like the Mactaquac Head pond or the Mactaquac Marina.
6
Probably the easiest step of all, hold the button on your reel and cast out. Reel in slow jigging the lure up and down towards you. http://tinyurl.com/3yvzwklhttp://tinyurl.com/3yvzwkl 7
