Identification The common Death Adder is very easily recognized by its wide triangular shaped head and a short body and very thin tail.

Size range The Death Adder can get up to 40cm to 100cm long.

Distribution The common Death Adder can be found in Northern Territory/Queensland/New south Wales/Victory/South Australia and Western Australia.

Habitat The death adder lives in the woodlands deep into the forest and grasslands for the bright sun.

Feeding & Diet The common death adder feeds on frogs, birds and lizards. Unlike most venomous snakes that search for prey, the common Death Adder sits in the same place waiting for its prey to come. The Death Adder covers its self with leaves till the prey approaches then the Death Adder will quickly strikes towards its prey. Then when the death adder will sit there till it dies.

Life cycle The common Death Adder can lay up to 24 live young
