W HAT IT COULD HAVE SAID ….. Laura is an excellent student but is unable to acknowledge her own strengths or potential. In fact, Laura does not believe she has either. Laura is incredibly hard working but never feels she has done enough and battles continually with the feeling of being insufficient in every area. Laura works until the early hours of each day in order to achieve the highest standards in her work; she keeps going by using self-harm and caffeine pills. Laura believes that her only value comes from what she can offer those around her, in school this means getting exceptional grades. Laura views her GCSE and A Level grades as unacceptably low. Laura self-harms multiple times each day in order to keep up the façade of being an excellent student and an acceptable human. Laura thinks about killing herself everyday but remains unable to share her pain with others.
