ὑπακοή , (hypakon - noun), ὑπακούω (hypakou – verb) “a state of being in compliance” “to follow instructions” (BDAG)
WE understand what obedience is – you do (or don’t do) what you are told, the way you are told and to the degree you are told.

What must one do to be saved?
Confess Jesus – Matthew 10:32,33; Romans 10:9-10
Be baptized – Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 22:16, 1 Peter 3:20-21, etc.
It is NOT meritorious works (earned) – Ephesians 2:9, Romans 11:6

11. Obeying the Gospel - faithfulness
Obeying the gospel does not end when one becomes a Christian. It continues AS a Christian!
A disciple will observe (obey) all things – Matthew 28:20
2 Corinthians 10:4-6, bringing every thought into the obedience of Christ
1 Peter 1:13-16, as obedient children…be holy

Abiding in Him
We live for Him and keep His word – John 8:31-32
John 14:15, “if anyone loves Me he will keep (obey) My word…”

13. Obeying the Gospel - faithfulness
One who can be counted upon to obey. Loyal and trusted
Matthews 25:21, 23
1 Corinthians 4:2, “it is required of stewards that one be found faithful.”
Revelation 2:10, “be faithful until death...”
