Why such little interest? Cares of the world (Luke 8:14; Phil. 2:21) The Gospel demands change, and the world loves darkness (John 3:19) A false sense of security (Jer: 6:14; 8:11) It’s not popular (Matthew 7:13-14; John 1:11-12; 6:66)

Our job is to TEACH! The Command is to teach (Mark 16:15) If folks don’t listen, we’ve done our job (Ezekiel 3:16-21) Jesus taught many who turned away (John 1:11-12; 6:66) Crowds rejected the apostles (Acts 13:45; 17:32)

The “unlikely prospect” may obey the gospel! Moral – Cornelius (Acts 10) Occult – Simon (Acts 8:9-13) Worldly – Corinth (Acts 18:8; 1 Cor. 6:9-11) Ignorant – Jews (Acts 2:23; 3:17) Mean, Hateful – Saul (Acts 9:1-2; 1 Tim. 1:15) Political – Jailor (Acts 16:31-33

All men have sinned (Romans 3:9, 23) Sin separates from God (Isaiah 59:1-2; James 1:15) If one dies in sin, the consequence is eternal punishment (Romans 6:23; 2 Thess. 1:7-9)

If we viewed the true spiritual condition of people we’d be motivated! If we viewed them without hope (Eph. 2:12) If we viewed them on road to hell (Revelation 21:8) If we viewed them as the Lord views them, WE’D BE MOTIVATED!

Only The Gospel Message Saves It is God’s power unto salvation (Rom. 1:16-17) It is how we are saved (1 Cor. 15:1-4) The saving messages in Acts all pointed to the crucified and resurrected Christ as the Savior, and directed hearers to believe and obey!

The Gospel Demands Change Repentance (Acts 2:38; 17:30-31) Stop and cease sin (Romans 6) Give up old religion (1 Thessalonians 1:9) Do things to serve God (Acts 26:17-20) But the message the world hears is often “acceptance” and “tolerance”.

Assemble and worship but do little more Maintain the “status quo” – We are satisfied because we have a nice church to be a part of No real effort to reach the lost

Try to reach family and friends with the gospel! Keep a list and pray for the lost in our circle of acquaintances Set up a home Bible study Bring someone to a gospel meeting or our regular services Talk to others about Bible questions or about how the Bible addresses modern problems Share tracts, bulletin articles, audio sermons, website, Facebook page, etc.
