Charges: In September, Consultants identified “one Marianne/one Carol” as one “threat” to SERC’s value of excellence. Discuss what this means: What is the current SERC reality? Why is that the reality? What are the benefits to modifying SERC’s current structure of supervision? What are the challenges to modifying SERC’s supervisory structure? Examine the current literature and research on Effective Supervision. Identify the major authorities, theories, and models. Define supervision and identify structures and polices for implementation.

Charges cont. Gather input from colleagues as to their opinion on the topic. Prepare a series of recommendations regarding effective supervision at SERC – Short-term (04- 05, 05-06) and long term (07-08, 10-11).
