4.  Yes, we feel based on multiple criteria that ASAP should build the program as well as expand to other universities in Halifax, and Wolfville.  Acadia’s SMILE program (300 volunteers)  DAL and SMU are involved with Project Maximize focused on teaching children to read.  Research shows that the demand for student involvement is out there (over 90 societies on the Stfx campus)  ASAP is different in the sense that the program is tailored towards adults with special needs

10.  ASAP should expand and work with existing organizations at other campuses in Nova Scotia  Partnerships with sponsors should be worked out that include donated facilities and transportation costs.  Student attitudes are positive but an awareness campaign would be beneficial. Definitely a market for this.  Should be incorporated as a society.  Future candidates should have passing familiarity with the program, and also experience working with special needs adults or youth.
