December 1 st, 2014 New ACT vocabulary! Write down the part of speech and definition. Leave 2 to 3 lines between definitions and the next word. Xenophobe- (noun) a person who fears or hates foreigners or strangers. Unctuous- (adj) Excessively smooth or smug; trying too hard to give an impression of earnestness, sincerity, or piety; fatty, oily; pliable.

Epigram- Epigram- short, witty saying or poem.

Intemperate- Intemperate- (adj) Immoderate, lacking in self- control.
