4 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) PPE is Equipment that helps you stay safe while building Examples are: - Safety Glasses - Rubber/Cloth Gloves (if necessary) - Closed-toe shoes - Hair Band (if hair is longer than Shoulders) - Jeans (not shorts or flammable material. Check the Label)

12 How to Respond to Hazards Depending on the type of hazard: - On Fire- Stop, drop, roll - Burn- wash with water IMMEADIATELY - Acid burn- wash with water IMMEADIATELY - Cut/ small injury- apply first aid ASAP - Huge Cut (stich-worthy)- Call 911, apply pressure - For any thing that is not small or you cannot fix, CALL 911

13 First Aid Things getting into the eye- wash them thoroughly for 15-20 minutes Small cuts- bandages only until it stops bleeding Getting “bumped”- apply ice to the hit spot Cut from a dirty thing- use alcohol swab then use bandage
