Delicate, pale, waxy. Cracks at end of fingers. Painless swelling of glands. Rose-colored blotches. Scars suddenly become painful. Pus offensive. Promotes expulsion of foreign bodies from tissues. Every little injury suppurates. Long lasting suppuration and fistulous tracts. Dry finger tips. Eruptions itch only in daytime and evening. Crippled nails. Indurated tumors. Abscesses of joints. After impure vaccination. Bursa. Lepra, nodes, and coppery spots. Keloid growths.

Copyright HWC 2014 May be reproduced with proper citation Tetanus, Lock-jaw When convulsive symptoms appear after an injury, and lock-jaw is to be apprehended, it is always best to send at once for a physician. 9 Tetanus is infection of the nervous system with the potentially deadly bacteria Clostridium tetani (C. tetani). An early sign of tetanus, in which the jaw is locked closed because of a tonic spasm of the muscles of mastication. Also called trismus.

Reported tetanus cases have declined >95%, and deaths from tetanus have declined >99% in the US since 1947. A 2001—2008 Report found that 233 tetanus cases were reported during 2001--2008; among the 197 cases with known outcomes, the case- fatality rate was 13.2%. 11
