What is Paraphrasing? Paraphrasing is the process of rewriting someone else’s idea(s) into your own words. It requires you to re-word your information. A paraphrase usually is as long as the original passage. A paraphrase my include some of the same words as the original quote. However, try to use your own words or synonyms whenever you can.

What is Summarizing? Summarizing is the main idea of the work. A summary is condensed (more briefly stated) when compared to the original passage or quote.
