Create a VISUAL AID:
Include all information in a visually appealing power point or handout
TITLE each chapter: Create a title for each chapter, which represents the action that is happening in the story
SUMMARIZE your chapter: Write a detailed and ORIGINAL summary of the plot. Discuss important events from each chapter in 6-10 full sentences . You MAY NOT copy & paste a summary from an online source!! (Plagiarism = FAILURE!)
Discuss IMPORTANT INFO & QUOTES: Discuss at least two important facts per chapter, such as the introduction of a new character, a symbol that is represented, a theme that is discussed, a motif or idiom that is found, etc. Discuss at least two important quotations per chapter, along with who said the quote, the page in which you found the quote, and the quote’s significance
Create REVIEW QUESTIONS: Create a minimum of 5 questions about the events of the chapter for the class to answer. Make these questions challenging, and include both the questions and answers in your visual aid. You may wish to play a review game to get the class engaged and make your lesson fun and memorable
Practice your OVERALL PRESENTATION: Give a presentation of appropriate:
Length (approximately 5-10 minutes per chapter)
Volume & Energy (loud enough so everyone can hear; exciting enough so everyone wants to listen)

CHAPTER ONE
TITLE: “Growing Up in Maycomb”
Summary:
Scout, the narrator, remembers the summer that her brother Jem broke his arm, and she looks back over the years to recall the incidents that led to that climactic event. Scout provides a brief introduction to the town of Maycomb, Alabama and its inhabitants, including her widowed father Atticus Finch, attorney and state legislator, Calpurnia, their "Negro" cook and housekeeper, and various neighbors.
The story starts with the first summer that Scout and Jem meet Dill (full name Charles Baker Harris), a little boy from Meridian, Mississippi who spends the summers with his aunt, the Finch's next-door neighbor Miss Rachel Haverford.
From the children's point of view, their most compelling neighbor is Boo Radley, the town ‘freak’ whom none of them have ever actually seen. Dill's fascination, in particular, leads to all sorts of games and plans to try and get Boo to come outside. Their attempts culminate in a dare to Jem, which he grudgingly takes. Jem runs into the Radley's yard and touches the outside of the house.

5. A SUMMARY in less than 50 Words…
The reader is introduced to the narrator, Scout, a six-year-old “tomboy”, who describes her family's history and her town, Maycomb. She and her brother, Jem, are also introduced to Dill, and the children share stories and fantasies about the mystery man next door, Arthur “Boo” Radley.
