10/5/15 11 RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS Neat blue titania is a more active photocatalyst than either P-25 or commercial rutile titania. Blue titania also shows higher selectivity towards production of ketones. These phenomena are mostly related to a high concentration of surface defect sites (Ti 3+ ), and a relatively low, but still significant affinity for water.
