2 Direct Object Pronouns First – let’s talk about the DIRECT OBJECT in a sentence. It receives the action of the verb and goes AFTER the conjugated verb. –Ejemplo: I have the book. – Yo tengo el libro. –You eat the tacos. – Tú comes los tacos. –I want to buy a shirt. – Quiero comprar una camisa. –My friend sees Elena at school. – Mi amigo ve Elena en la escuela.

3 All the green highlighted words are nouns. They can be replaced with a pronoun. They are called Direct Object Pronouns. Ejemplos en Inglés I have the book.  I have it. You ate the tacos.  You ate them. I want to buy a shirt.  I want to buy it. My friend sees Elena at school.  My friend sees her.

4 The DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS me te lo la nos os los las The four pronouns in the box can refer to people AND objects.

5 In Spanish, the Direct Object Pronoun is placed directly before the conjugated verb. Ejemplos en español: Yo tengo el libro. Yo lo tengo.

6 Direct Object Pronouns Tú comes los tacos. Tú los comes. Mi amigo ve a Elena en la escuela. Mi amigo la ve en la escuela.
