CDPSnapBack Library Updated Back many months ago when we were FIRST in the SnapBack planning stages we were looking to use BrowserPlus as our interface vehicle. The reason why still remains. Outta site outta mind. We were looking for a way to be seen daily by users without being obtrousive. The same issues remain – how to be seen and not seen as a pest. Left is a typical windows desktop. Click on the window for a “demonstration. Each time we create a new snapshot we flash the Ghost Bar reminding the user that we are continually updating recovery images for them. The transparency of the Ghost Bar virtually assures it will not get in the way. Click again to see it with another desktop. CDPSnapBack Library Updated

Transparency means it won’t get in the way

CDPSnapBack Library Updated Now let’s start adding some button functionality. Lets say we have a button checking internet connectivity. We can display the status when the Ghost Bar flashes update status. Green – Internet’s OK Red – Internet’s Toast The red button shows – user activates the button by clicking in the Ghost Bar

System Event Log Has Messages CDPSnapBack Library Updated Another button could be one monitoring the System Event Log. If it finds nothing wrong it could place a green bar accoss the top of the window If the button script finds potential problems user is notified

Activating Button When a user attempts to activate a button which required Administrator access we should be asking for their password. We have no way of knowing WHO is using the computer at that point in time!
7
User View – Button Access I see the button access screens having more similarity with Windows help screens than anything else. Intro or About Screen Search Favorites
8
Button Index I see this as an easy way for the average computer user to access information which they might have no way to ask for specifically. Example: Individual thinks their hard drive is running slow but does not know what to do. The “Button Index” is something that can be updated in the background each time the user comes to our website. By having buttons listed and indexed with key words will allow users to be able to search in English for actions they might not otherwise know how to search.

Fearless Leader’s Interface Idea On finding buttons: “An interface like “Google Earth” where the user gets to zoom in and out as well pan to find their desired button.”
