1 P&R Offices $1.3 M in 2013 Capital Improvement Projects for new P&R Offices City Auditorium and Community Building in future CIP Recognized need to invest in both public buildings – time to review and analyze current use and see if efficiencies could be gained.

2 Process June 19, 2012 – City Commission authorized City Administration to seek proposals for architectural services develop options for the Park and Recreation Offices – 6 Design Firms Submitted Proposals, 4 were interviewed, Bruce McMillan Architects were recommended September 4, 2012 – City Commission approved the selection of Bruce McMillan Architects to conduct the preliminary design options for the Park and Recreation Office Renovation at City Auditorium and City Park

3 Process Continued February 26, 2013 – City Administration and Bruce McMillan Architects presented a concept study of options to the City Commission for the renovation of City Auditorium and offices within City Park – City Commission expressed an interest in option to renovate City Auditorium and add Park and Recreation offices to City Hall June 4, 2013 – City Commission approves design contract with Bruce McMillan for renovation at City Auditorium to include new Park and Recreation offices and gymnasium floor expansion

4 Process Continued June 17, 2013 – City Attorney Bill Raymond delivers legal opinion regarding any potential legal restrictions or limitations on the proposed renovation of City Auditorium No legal restrictions or limitations in proceeding with proposed renovation. July 22, 2013 – Historic Resources Board Passed the following motion and recommendation to be forwarded to the City Commission: – Direct the architect of the Parks and Recreation expansion project to study alternatives, including renovating the Peace Memorial stage and auditorium, as well as adding on to City Hall with Parks and Recreation offices, in a way that takes into account the historic elements of the facility, before the completion of the design phase of the project. July 25, 2013 – Public Meeting to discuss City Auditorium Renovation
