What is CCP? CCP is part of Ohio law that requires all state public high schools to provide students with an opportunity to earn college credit toward a degree or career certification during their high school career. CCP replaces the Post Secondary Education Option ( PSEO). You have the opportunity to earn college credit as a high school student!
3
HS Campus vs. College Campus You can participate in CCP without leaving your high school campus or you can take CCP courses on a college/university campus. 5 CCP Courses will be offered on your high school campus next school year including: Business Technologies Department Science Department Computer Concepts and Applications Fundamentals of Business & Administrative Services Marketing Principles Medical Terminology Introduction to Healthcare
4
Eligibility You must meet the participation requirements set by the college/university you attend. Courses offered on the Westerville High School Campus will be delivered through Columbus State Community College (CSCC) CSCC College Credit Plus requirements are: you must meet course pre-requisites to enroll in a particular course there is no GPA requirement
5
Cost & Credit There is no additional cost to you to participate in CCP courses offered at a public college/university. There may be additional fees to participate in CCP courses offered by a private institution. Successful completion of the course results in earned credit on both your high school AND college transcript. Your CCP course grade will be reflected on both transcripts. CCP courses carry 1.25 weighted credit 3 semester hours = 1 high school credit

Opportunities Earning college credit as a high school student may save your money on tuition as a college student Challenging coursework Explore post-secondary interests Earn an industry credential (or be well on your way to earning one) that allows you to enter the workforce right out of high school

Points to consider Is this a right fit for me based on my strengths and goals? You are beginning to build your college transcript that will stay with you throughout your post-secondary career. There is a financial obligation to reimburse the district if you fail or do not complete a course.
