3  Seasonal Timing -To examine the EMS system and determine the high and low venue usage. The focus is to hold special events during times when business is slow.  Target Marketing - The University can get the most for their advertising dollars when they market to target demographics, which consist of the most likely customers in a general population. Strategic event planning for Conferences and Institutes can incorporate market targeting by including activities that appeal to certain types of customers in the city, state, regional and national areas.  Creating a Brand Name - One of the most important aspects of a University brand is that it stands out among the other. We want our Anderson Conferences Center brand to synonymous with “Providing Excellent Customer Service”. Our branding should be clearly visible on our WSSU website and other marketing materials; and our staff should also be consistently reminded of your branding, until it literally becomes second nature.

4  Collaboration with Dining Service - To partner with our dining services team to create events that showcase the opportunities at the Anderson conference Center. Event themes can play into seasonal timing or demographic targeting, or they can simply help an event stand out from those at competing businesses. This effort will bring in additional revenue to the University.  Connecting with the Local Community - Getting the word out to Affiliates, Colleagues Friends of the University, Supporters and the Winston Salem Community that we are exist and display what we have to offer. Incorporating the use of social media such as Face Book, Twitter and LinkedIn. Attending local luncheons, community organization meetings, and social engagements to encourage use of our venues. To advise Faculty, Staff and University Department Deans of our capability to Cater their summer conferences, House the attendees and provide meeting space for city, state, regional and national meetings through the Summer Conference Initiatives.  A Solid Budget Review Monthly- Creating an event and revenue monthly metrics will help capture the monthly activity and generated revenue streams. At the end of the year, we can report the team supported the University with XXX number of events generating XXX number of dollars. This will help support our personnel requirements as well as supporting general upkeep needs.
