2 What are boot verbs? Unlike regular present tense verbs, boot verbs have a change in the stem of the verb as well as the ending. For instance: ENTENDER- to understand ENTEND=Stem ER=ending

3 Boot Verbs cont. These are called boot verbs because when you draw a line around the forms that change it creates a boot shape. There are three type of boot verbs: Eie EI O ue

6 TENER, VENIR The verbs tener and venir are called partial stem changing verbs. The yo forms DO NOT have a stem change but have their own irregularity. TENGO TENEMOS TIENES TENEIS TIENE TIENEN

9 Other common ei verbs Medir to measure Pedir to ask for, to order

11 Jugar: follows the same pattern as o ue but it changes to u ue.
