6 11-Sep-06Company Sensitive (or Other Label)Slide 6 Effective Presentation Elements  Keep it short and simple, but make sure you tell a story and drive a result  Talk about your slide, don’t read it!  Describe the slide: “This is a four-up that shows how we’ve increased revenue…”  Pause to let your audience see it  Clear the visual slide; right to left and top to bottom  Reinforce the take-away  Check for questions  Know your audience  Who are they and why are they here?  What is their objective from listening to you?  Eye contact is important  Try to finish every thought with eye contact on one of the listeners, not the one who asked a question  Balanced posture, some gesturing (no flailing), raised volume, and engaged tone  Emphasize key words! You Tell The Story … Not The Presentation !
