FYI Contents 1 Click on a hyperlink to view the corresponding slide. Some conspiracy theories argue that JFK’s assassination may be linked to the election of 1960. With close results in Chicago, some feel that JFK got help from organized crime and when he became President, he turned his back to them as Attorney General Robert Kennedy prosecuted them. Kennedy killed by the mob?

FYI Contents 1 Click on a hyperlink to view the corresponding slide. Some conspiracy theories think that Kennedy may have been killed by people within the U.S. government with help from the Military Industrial Complex. As Kennedy decision to move towards a “flexible response” with conventional and guerilla forces, rather than expensive nuclear weapons could lead to lost money Kennedy had also looked to end direct U.S. military in Vietnam which would also cost these Defense Contractors money. Kennedy killed by the Military Industrial Complex?

FYI Contents 1 Click on a hyperlink to view the corresponding slide. Some conspiracy theories argue that JFK’s assassination may be linked to his pursuit of having Fidel Castro assassinated. Lee Harvey Oswald, who spent time in the Soviet Union, may have been a communist sympathizer of the Cubans and Castro. JFK killed by Cuban Communists?
6
FYI 4-1 Was it a Lone Gunman? The murder case against Lee Harvey Oswald A drifter and former Marine Former defector to the Soviet Union Worked in the Texas Schoolbook Depository where some witnesses claimed to hear multiple gunshots come from.
7
FYI 4-1 Dealey Plaza – Dallas, Texas
8
FYI 4-1 The Case Against Oswald Lee Harvey Oswald Was arrested inside a movie theater one hour after the shooting took place. How did the police find him so quickly? Why go to the movies? Also accused of killing Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippet on his way to the theater. Why kill a “random” police officer?
9
FYI 4-1 The Case Against Oswald Lee Harvey Oswald Killed by Jack Ruby two days after his arrest while being transferred to the county jail Jack Ruby: a local strip club owner with ties to organized crime Why did Ruby kill Oswald? How did Ruby get into the police station with a loaded handgun? Why was the prison transfer on live TV?
10
FYI 4-1 The Warren Commission Report September 1964 Ordered by Lyndon Johnson to investigate the assassination Led by Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren Also on the commission was Michigan Representative (and future President) Gerald Ford.
11
FYI 4-1 The Warren Commission Report Texas Schoolbook Depository Many witnesses claimed three shots were fired from the sixth floor window where Oswald worked.
12
FYI 4-1 The Warren Commission Report Texas Schoolbook Depository Police found a bolt action rifle placed between the boxes with Oswald’s handprints. Three spent 6.5mm cartridges were found by the window Bullet fragments were found in Kennedy’s limo One complete bullet was found on a stretcher at Parkland Hospital All traced to Oswald’s rifle
13
FYI 4-1 The Warren Commission Report Autopsy: Bethesda Naval Hospital (6 hours later) Three shots fired with two hitting the President, both from behind. One through his neck One to the back of his head. The shot fired between these two was credited with injuring Texas Governor Connally
14
FYI 4-1 The Warren Commission Report Conclusion Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone to kill President Kennedy and injure Texas Governor John Connally Same conclusion that the FBI and Dallas police had arrived at a year earlier.
15
FYI 4-1 Critics of the Warren Commission Report Could Oswald of acted alone? The timing is very unlikely for one man to get off three shots in six seconds with the type of rifle that Oswald allegedly used. Also had to shoot through trees in the path.
16
FYI 4-1 Was Oswald even on the 6 th floor of the TSBD building?
17
FYI 4-1 Critics of the Warren Commission Report Could Oswald of acted alone? The commission discounted eyewitness accounts of “other gunmen” (grassy knoll) Most Warren Commission members (and President Johnson) later admitted Oswald “probably didn’t act alone.”
18
FYI 4-1 The Single Bullet Theory Original Conclusion of the Warren Commission is that three shots were fired by Oswald The first bullet wounded Kennedy in the neck The second bullet wounded Governor Connally Third bullet was the fatal head shot to Kennedy
19
FYI 4-1 The Single Bullet Theory The “Timing Problem” FBI concluded that the minimum firing time of the rifle was 2.3 seconds. The film taken by Abraham Zapruder shows that the shots could not all of gotten off in time Warren Commission adjust their theory First shot missed Second shot wounded BOTH men.
20
FYI 4-1 The Single Bullet Theory The “Magic Bullet Theory” One bullet injured both men Went through Kennedy’s back and out his neck Made a “zig-zag” between the two men Hit Connally in the back, shattered two ribs, hit his right arm and then left a small fragment in his left leg.
21
FYI 4-1 Support of the Single Bullet Theory
22
FYI 4-1 But why wait for the turn on Elm Street? The easier shot(s) for a “lone assassin” is coming up Houston Street towards the Texas School Book Depository building
23
FYI 4-1 The Single Bullet Theory The “Magic Bullet Theory” The bullet was later found on a stretcher in Parkland Hospital, but not the stretcher that Connally was brought in on.
24
FYI 4-1 The Single Bullet Theory The “Magic Bullet Theory” The found “magic bullet” was also in “pristine” condition showing little wear for a bullet that did as much damage at the Commission claimed.
25
FYI 4-1 The Single Bullet Theory The “Magic Bullet Theory” A) The “Magic Bullet” B) Test Bullets fired into cotton C) Bullet fired into a goat carcass D) Bullet fired into the wrist of a human cadaver
26
FYI 4-1 The Single Bullet Theory The Angle of Trajectory An FBI reenactment could line up both men with the correct angles, but not line up the correct wounds JFK would on had to of leaned down As the bullet traveled through JFK it could of changed directions, but would of also slowed down.
27
FYI 4-1 The Grassy Knoll Assassin Eyewitness Accounts Many people in Dealey Plaza claim they saw a gunman (and some even smoke) come from behind a fence on the grassy knoll.
28
FYI 4-1 The Grassy Knoll Assassin Eyewitness Accounts Many people in the plaza (including a police officer) can be seen running and pointing in the direction of the picket fence where the suspected gunman might have been.
29
FYI 4-1 The Grassy Knoll Assassin Photographic Evidence Shadows show a “possibility” of a man being behind the fence
30
FYI 4-1 The Grassy Knoll Assassin “Badge Man” Using modern technology to examine the picture it seems like the image in the shadow could be a police officer.
31
FYI 4-1 The Grassy Knoll Assassin “Badge Man” Some even feel that this policeman may be Officer J.D. Tippet who was allegedly killed by Oswald on his way to the movie theater.
32
FYI 4-1 The Grassy Knoll Assassin “Badge Man” One witness to the shooting claims that a man dressed like a police officer took the film from his camera that he took on the grassy knoll. It is “possible” that this witness can be seen in the shadows as well holding a camera.
33
FYI 4-1 The Grassy Knoll Assassin “Fatal Head Shot” The movement of Kennedy’s head “back and to the left” suggests that a shot must have come from the grassy knoll.
34
FYI 4-1 The Grassy Knoll Assassin “Fatal Head Shot” Some tests argue that the shot could have come from Dealey Plaza creating a “backspin” effect OR the move back could be due to the pressure from an exit wound.
35
FYI 4-1 The Body of the President Was the President’s body on Air Force One? On the flight from Dallas to Washington DC the body may not of been on board. At Parkland Hospital (Dallas) the body was placed in a bronze ceremonial casket. This was on Air Force One At Bethesda Hospital (DC) his body was removed from a pinkish-gray shipping casket. Was also in a body bag Not placed in bag in Dallas
36
FYI 4-1 The Body of the President Parkland Hospital Observations Dallas doctors felt the wound on his neck was an entry wound (not an exit)
37
FYI 4-1 The Body of the President Parkland Hospital Observations Felt that the wound in the back of his head was an exit wound. This means two shots would have had to come from the front
38
FYI 4-1 The Body of the President Bethesda Hospital Autopsy The man in charge of the autopsy had no experience examining gunshot wounds Kennedy’s clothes were not examined to see if they matched the wounds in the drawings. Several drawings were off by inches.
39
FYI 4-1 The Body of the President Bethesda Hospital Autopsy They did not dissect the exit wound on his throat Did not examine Kennedy’s brain to discover the direction of the fatal head shot. Kennedy’s brain was removed and not buried with him, and to this day is still missing.
40
FYI 4-1 The Body of the President Conclusion Seems as if the body was altered in some way between Dallas and Washington DC. Two FBI agents have stated on record that they thought this to be the case.
41
FYI 4-1 Questions about the limo… Knowing of the threat in Dallas, why not use the bubble top to the limo? Why did Johnson order the limo to be cleaned out so soon?
42
FYI 4-1 Still no solution……..
