1
How can I make an Existing lawn flourish?
2
How I want my lawn I want a beautiful lawn with no weeds and a brighter healthier green. Right now there is a few weeds and the grass just isn’t as lush as it could be, it just doesn’t compare to my neighbor's.
3
Location/Original Characteristics The lawn that I want to make flourish is located in Flandreau, SD. The lawn is about 500 square feet in size The current grass type is a mix of blue grass, ryegrass, and fescue The grass has available irrigation in all areas The turf has heavy traffic
4
Soil Characteristics The soil characteristics are as follows –Moderately coarse soil texture –6.7 pH –10 –14inch deep soil depth –The area is flat
5
Maintenance I would have to –Water once a week or as needed –Mow when grass reaches 3 to 3 ½ in. –Fertilize in May, June, July, and September
6
Fertilizer Scott’s Turf Builder with Halts Crabgrass would be applied in May Then Scott’s Turf Builder with Plus 2 Weed Control in June In July I would use Scott’s Turf Builder with Summer Guard Then in September Scott’s Turf Builder with Winterizer
7
Irrigation There is already a sprinkler system I’m going to water the lawn once a week or as needed
8
Conclusion I wanted a lawn that would compare to my neighbors, it lacked the luster of their lush lawns. I believe it needed nutrients and water, and will be nice looking late this summer, and for sure next year.
